Welcome!
Since 2014, the Associazione Amici Animali a 4 Zampe – ODV has built and managed the ‘La Valle Incantata’ Dog Park Shelter, and since 2023, the ‘La Valle degli Angeli’ Cat Shelter in Lajatico (Pisa). This shelter is dedicated to abandoned dogs and cats, offering them a safe and loving environment.
Our shelter is committed to fighting stray animals, abandonment, and animal abuse in Lajatico. The main goal of the dog and cat shelter is to provide temporary refuge to abandoned or stray dogs and cats, actively working to find them a permanent family where they can live peacefully.
Our main activities include:
- Adoption policies to ensure the dignity and welfare of the animals;
- Active involvement of the Lajatico community and sharing of our missions and results;
- Implementation of educational projects in schools and nursing homes;
- Development of Animal-Assisted Interventions (AAI) projects in educational and therapeutic settings.
We invite you to visit our dog and cat shelter to take our dogs for walks in the hills or to cuddle our cats. We would be more than happy to welcome you and show you up close our commitment to the welfare of abandoned animals. Come and discover how you can contribute or adopt a loyal friend!

Make a Donation
Discover how your contribution can make a difference for the furry ones we assist. By making a donation or allocating your “5 per mille” (for Italian Tax contributors) to us, you will help provide essential care and a safe shelter for the abandoned dogs and cats of Valle Incantata and Valle degli Angeli. The “5 per mille” costs you nothing, but can make a big difference. Every euro donated helps save lives and offers a second chance to these wonderful creatures.

On-Site Rescue Operations

Pet Therapy - AAI
We develop innovative projects for animal-assisted interventions, utilizing the power of the human-animal bond to improve lives in day centres, for the homeless, and for women who have experienced violence.
Adoptions and Distance Adoptions
We offer the opportunity to give love and a new beginning to animals through responsible adoptions, while distance adoption allows for the financial support of a needy animal, even if it’s not possible to welcome them into your home.
Involvement and engagement with citizens
Our mission is to actively engage the community, sharing knowledge and raising awareness about animal welfare, because together we can make a difference.
24-Hour Veterinary Emergency Service for Dogs and Cats
We offer a 24/7 emergency veterinary service to provide immediate care for dogs and cats that are captured, housed at our facility, or involved in accidents. Our qualified team is ready to respond to ensure the well-being and health of animals in any emergency situation.
Projects in Schools and Nursing Homes
We extend our commitment to schools and nursing homes, educating and spreading joy through meetings and experiences with animals, promoting well-being for all.
Capture of Stray or Roaming Dogs:
In accordance with Article 29 of Regional Law 59/09, we conduct the capture of stray or unattended roaming dogs when necessary to address specific concerns related to public health, safety, or animal welfare. 24/7 Availability
Capture and Assistance for Injured Cats:
We capture injured cats when necessary for reasons related to public health, safety, or animal welfare, including carcass disposal if needed. Subsequently, we provide shelter, assistance, and post-incident care for cats at our cattery when they are not linked to an owner or a Local Training Center (CFL).
